    : The Prime Minister Hon. Hu'akavameiliku returned to the Tonga Legislative Assembly this morning after taking leave from the House for over three months, but made no mention of his Cabinet's rift with King Tupou VI. In a short opening speech the PM thanked the House for the long time he had been away. He did not have anything to say about the King's withdrawal of his confidence and consent to the appointment of two Cabinet Ministers.

    : A magistrate has granted bail for a woman, one of two siblings, arrested on 10 February in relation to a police seizure of 15.657kg of methamphetamine in Nuku'alofa. ‘Ana Longolongo Kolokihakaufisi (37) and her brother, a senior reserve bank official Tēvita Nonu Kolokihakaufisi (39), first appeared before a magistrate on 12 February, and were remanded in custody to 16 February. He was not permitted bail and remains in custody.

    : A new “state-of-the-art” 2MWh Cummins Genset generator, commissioned at Tonga Power Ltd's power plant at Anana in Nuku'alofa, yesterday, 14 February, will help meet peak demand on Tongatapu. The generator, worth about $1.038 million pa'anga, was commissioned by the Australian High Commissioner to Tonga, HE Rachael Moore.
