Moana Pasifika has named their team to play the Western Force this Saturday, 15 February, launching their 2025 DHL Super Rugby Pacific season in Perth, Australia.

The Otago Highlanders scored a 28 - 17 win against Moana Pasifika this afternoon, in the first-ever Super Rugby game played at Teufaiva Stadium, in Nuku'alofa, where the constant rain failed to dampen the spirits of an enthusiastic crowd and full grand strand.

The Tonga U20 rugby team, Junior 'Ikale Tahi lost 25-39 to Fiji on the first Oceania Rugby U20s Challenge campaign held in Auckland, New Zealand on 27 February.

Making their debut in Australia, the Penina Pasifika Women’s Rugby team will play against the Queensland Reds in the Super Rugby Women's pre-season tournament on Saturday, 23 February.

Brisbane is set to host the 2023 Oceania Rugby Sevens Championship for the first time, in a three days competition, with teams also competing for an Olympic qualification, starting 10-12 November, at the Ballymore Stadium. The women’s Olympic section of the tournament will feature Tonga, and seven other Pacific islands countries, vying for the sole qualification spot to Paris 2024.

Tonga’s Under 20 was defeated by Samoa 8-5 in the second and final match of the 2022 Oceania Rugby Under 20 Trophy held at Teufaiva Stadium, on 3 December.

The ‘Ikale Tahi team to meet the Manu Samoa at the Mt Smart Stadium, Auckland on Saturday, 10 July, was announced by the Prime Minister, Hon. Rev. Dr Pohiva Tu’I’onetoa, president of the Tonga Rugby Union, this afternoon in Nuku’alofa.

Tonga and Samoa U20s rugby union teams will battle it out Saturday, 22 February, to win the Oceania Rugby Trophy at Apia Park Stadium, and take the qualification spot for the World Rugby U20s Trophy later this year.

With help from their friends the Real Tonga Touch Rugby team is taking part in the Pacific Games in Samoa. Fehoko Tu'ivai, President of Tonga National Touch said the team arrived in Apia, Samoa yesterday, 11 July.
