Nuku'alofa, Tonga : Luseane Fatafehi (33) is serving one year imprisonment for false accounting and theft of $56,779 from her employer, the Heilala Vanilla Company. The judge said the theft had led to a number of financial hardships and had seen local vanilla farmers out of pocket, the Heilala Vanilla business suffering economic woes and had caused damage within the community at large.Premium content

Nuku'alofa, Tonga : Taulanga Nonu was jailed for five and a half years for serious housebreaking, theft and serious arson of the Teta Tours building in the Central Business District. His co-accused, Molitoni Moimoi was sentenced to three years and two months in jail. The Lord Chief Justice considered that Nonu had destroyed property worth no less than $1 million, while Moimoi had a deplorable history of previous offending.Premium content
