Miss Tonga wears best sarong at Miss Pacific Islands Pageant

Miss Tonga, Siosi’ana Taumoepeau was placed third runner-up at the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant 2026, in Nadi, on Saturday 14 February.

Siosi’ana won the best sarong award, a main judging category. Miss Tonga’s sarong is a design framed within the Heilala flower, the national flower of Tonga symbolizing honor, identity, and royalty.

Representing Tonga at the pageant activities she also won the “national tourism award”, a special award.

With these two awards, MissTonga was placed fourth among the seven Pacific contestents of the pageant.

The new Miss Pacifis Islands is Miss Fiji, Ailava Samuels, who won the best interview award.

Ailava Samuels secures the fourth Miss Pacific Islands crown for Fiji - last held by Fiji's Anne Dunn in 2016.

Miss Papua New Guinea won the best traditional attire a main judging category and Miss Internet through a vote taken online on the Miss Pacific Islands facebook account. She won with over 70k likes on her photo.

Miss Cook Islands was awarded the best talent award, a main judging category, and the Miss Photogenic award a special award.

Miss Pacific Islands result:
1.    Winner: Miss Fiji, Ailava Samuels.
2.    First runner-up: Miss Papua New Guinea, Iampela Popena.
3.    Second runner-up: Miss Samoa, Iliganoa Feagaimaali’i Soti Mapu.
4.    Third runner-up: Miss Tonga, Siosi’ana Taumoepeau.
5.    Fourth runner-up: Miss Cook Islands, Petra Mataiti.

The host country for Miss Pacific Islands 2027 is undecided.
