Nuku'alofa, Tonga : The Tonga Government has today reaffirmed its confidence in the investment agreement made recently with the Ngati Tahu Ngati Whaoa Trust from New Zealand. The government stated that a recent judgment made by the New Zealand High Court against the current Chairman of the Trust "was a private matter which does not...affect the Agreement that exists between the Trust and the Tongan Government." -

Nuku'alofa, Tonga : The National Reserve Bank of Tonga has recommenced the pay out of claims by depositors and creditors of the former Pacific International Commercial Bank. In a statement on August 11, the NRBT said that payments may be collected from the NRBT. The license of the PICB was revoked by the Reserve Bank on July 26. -
