Tonga Police are investigating a serious crash that occurred on the Hihifo Road, west of Hofoa, on Sunday evening. A white Toyota passenger van left the road and crashed into post and a power pole, landing on its side.

A prisoner from Hu’atolitoli Prison tragically died yesterday from a suspected suicide, the Prime Minister told a media briefing today. He said the prisoner was being treated for a mental health issue at Vaiola Hospital. However, it was not immediately clear whether or not the prisoner had been discharged from Vaiola Hospital at the time of his death.
