A 31-year-old man from Ha'asini was arrested after a police pursuit, after he was alleged to have been distributing illicit drugs. Two others, including a 14-year-old teen were arrested later.

A 25-year-old man was arrested in relation to the seizure of illicit drugs, including 1.81 grams of methamphetamine at a bush allotment, on 23 February.

Tonga Police is upskilling police officers in the operation of drones acquired through the Illicit Drugs Response Fund (IDRF) to support police operations. A man from Ha'asini has been arrested and charged in relation to a hit-and-run fatality at Nualei in November 2022.

A man who died from falling off the cliff at the Hufangalupe Lookout, Vaini, has been named as Mr Huákau Tutuíla from Hoi village, aged 35 years.
