Nuku'alofa, Tonga : A direction on the Tongan Supreme Court on how to process a civil case that was brought by the former Attorney General, John Cauchi against the Kingdom of Tonga is expected to be announced today, Friday, January 31. Nuku'alofa, Tonga : Living in small tents superheated by the mid-summer sun, while going through the trauma of the devastation caused by Tropical Cyclone Ian, is the reality of life for families in the Ha'apai Group who are relying on outside assistance, after loosing all on the afternoon of January 11. A survey team has estimated that by mid-February the food crops would be used up in all the districts of Kauvai Ha’ano, Lifuka, Foa and ‘Uiha, which were badly damaged. Nuku'alofa, Tonga : A 19-year-old woman who fell from the back of a van at Lapaha, was the first road death for 2014, and one of four accidental deaths in Tonga last week. Nuku'alofa, Tonga : A suspended Police Constable Valeliano Manu (33) and two foreign nationals, Chinchiu Liu (aka Kevin Liu) (31), and ShiQing Lin (32) were jailed on January 21 for over five years for importing over 2 kilos of the controlled chemical pseudoephedrine.
