Nuku'alofa, Tonga : A hurricane warning remains in force for Vava’u, Ha'apai, Tongatapu and 'Eua. A strong wind warning remains in force for the Niuas. Very destructive hurricane force winds are expected from Monday morning. Severe Tropical Cyclone Gita, category 3, was located 750km east-northeast of Nuku'alofa or 645km east south east of Vava'u or 650km east of Lifuka at 10:00am Sunday morning. The cyclone is moving south about 12 knots and expected to gradually turn and move southwest today.

Suva, Fiji : UNICEF is calling for urgent action to protect children from a host of risks and harms online around the world including the Pacific, as part of its Safer Internet Day message this week. Tonga is playing its part with cyber safety programmes being delivered in the kingdom in partnership with UNICEF, who reports that that one in three internet users worldwide is a child. -
