Nuku'alofa, Tonga : Five people who were abducted from a home at Tofoa on Tuesday night, 20 November, during an armed robbery, are well, after escaping from a location at Tokomololo where they were tied up. Nukunuku, Tonga : Christmas is just around the corner. But, I bet the festive spirit in Nukunuku, will be ... gloomy I think. Dust, is now the order of our days twenty-four-seven for two months running...houses, drinking water and from new born to the elderly have their dose of dust every day. When will the road work complete? It left us to wonder what went wrong? Whether there was adequate funding for the project?- Witcliffe TM. -

Fua'amotu, Tongatapu : In a special ceremony at Taliai Camp at Fua'amotu today, the United Kingdom Operational Service Medal for Afghanistan was awarded to Tonga's fourth contingent of 55 soldiers who served in Afghanistan this year, as well as some soldiers from the first three Tongan contingents. Nuku'alofa, Tonga : Tonga's fourth contingent of 55 soldiers to Afghanistan returned safely to Tonga on Friday 16 November, after six-months duty in Helmand Province, under a NATO led-mission. Medals of recognition will be presented to the contingent by Rt Hon.
