Customer Service Officer

About the Role:
We are now recruiting for a Customer Service Officer based in Nukualofa and offer a dynamic and supportive environment. Reporting to the Country Manager, the role is tasked with ensuring all customer needs and requirements are met, from processing new bookings to providing administrative support and maintaining excellent business relationships with customers and all external parties.
Some of the key responsibilities and accountabilities:
Customer Services and Administration
- Attend to Tonga day to day queries regarding imports
- Send out pre-alerts and follow up with customers once alerts are sent out
- Dispatch revised Arrivals and Invoices
- Freight endorsement
- Manage all export cargoes out of Tonga to its final destination
Commercial
- Prepare and circulate needed weekly Commercial reports
- Request for new rates or validate existing ones
Operations
- Ensure needed documentation is received by Tonga ports
- Prepare vessel load lists & confirm pre-actuals
- Ensure all reefers have plug in orders and monitored by technician at wharf
- Handover export documents to operations for vessel clearance
- Prepare export Vessel deposit for slot vessels
Skills / experience required:
- Trade Diploma in Customs equivalent or above
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the shipping industry preferred
- Good Communication skills, with excellent command of written and spoken English Ability to speak Mandarin would be an advantage.
- Advanced use of MS tools such as Excel, Word and Power Point
- Able to work well with both internal & external Customers
