Nuku'alofa, Tonga : PUBLIC NOTICE: To regulate and supervise non-bank financial institutions, the National Reserve Bank of Tonga developed the Moneylenders Act 2018. This Act was proclaimed by Cabinet to come into force on 30th September 2020, and a Gazette notice has been publicly posted and published on the Reserve Bank’s website and Facebook page. Nuku'alofa, Tonga : Tonga’s navy has received a second guardian class patrol boat, the VOEA Ngahau Siliva, contributed by the Australian Government. Tonga's High Commissioner to Australia Princess Angelika Lātūfuipeka Tuku’aho formally accepted the new vessel at the town of Henderson in Western Australia last Friday 30 October. -

Nuku'alofa, Tonga : A massive national roads project that aims to tarseal 2,149 kilometers of roads throughout Tonga, is underway with a $15 million pa'anga allocation in the government's 2020-2021 national budget. It's a fraction of the $300 million that is needed to complete the task. The work is slowly getting into motion, says Hekisou Fifita, the Acting Director of the Civil Engineering Division of the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Manager of government road projects.
