The Ngahau Siliva, won their first game against a joint Vanuatu and PNG team 78-0 at the International Defence Rugby Competition in Auckland, New Zealand. His Majesty’s Armed Forces (HMAF) Women’s Rugby Team, will meet France on 11 October.

The Ngahau Siliva, His Majesty’s Armed Forces (HMAF) Women’s Rugby Team will be competing in the first International Defence Rugby Competition on 7 October in Auckland, New Zealand.

Learning how community-based sport committees can be better administered, Rugby League club representatives from Tongatapu took part in a Sports in Community Course last week. Men and women, coaches, committee members and volunteers learned what makes a successful sports club and to how to effectively organise and deliver an event.

Women rugby players from Tonga, Papua New Guinea and Samoa are taking part in the world first women’s rugby combine program held this week in Gold Coast, Australia. The group have been mentored by a world class coaching group including Daryl Gibson (Fiji), Toutai Kefu (Tonga), Seilala Mapusua and Filoi Eneliko (Samoa), Paul Downes (Moana Pasifika) and Mere Moto (Fiji).

Barefoot rugby in Tonga will welcome the distribution of 20,000 pairs of sports shoes to 30 high schools this week, along with sports equipment donated by the Auckland Blues in New Zealand, under the club's Best Foot Forward for Tonga initiative .

Tonga’s National Netball Team Tala has come out of the Oceania Netball Qualifiers not only undefeated but momentus, as it will take Tonga to its first ever Netball World Cup 2023 in Cape Town, South Africa. "This victory is huge for us as a team and for our country. With everything that Tonga has been through this year with the volcanic eruption, tsunami and covid, it was a way to send hope and joy to our country." said captain Hulita Haukinima Veve.
