The ‘Ikale Tahi team to meet the Manu Samoa at the Mt Smart Stadium, Auckland on Saturday, 10 July, was announced by the Prime Minister, Hon. Rev. Dr Pohiva Tu’I’onetoa, president of the Tonga Rugby Union, this afternoon in Nuku’alofa.

Tonga has named its team, which includes 13 debutants, to face the All Blacks at Mt Smart Stadium, Auckland, on Saturday 3 July.

Six athletes, including USA based weightlifter, Kuinini Manumu’a, will represent Tonga at the Tokyo Olympics next month. By Eleanor Gee.

Tonga Sevens rugby team failed to qualify for the Olympics at the repecharge tournament held on 19-20 June in Monaco. However, three Tongan players who played at the tournament have completed switching international allegiance to be able to play for Tonga's national fifteen-a-side team, 'Ikale Tahi.

‘Ikale Tahi Head Coach, Toutai Kefu, has announced his squad, including 15 debutants, for the Rugby World Cup qualifying matches against the Lapaki Samoa, as well as the 'warm up' match against the All Blacks in July.

Australia is supporting over 170 athletes from 11 Pacific nations, including Tonga, to prepare for the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games to be held in Tokyo from 23 July to 8 August.

Tonga Sevens has named Adriaan Ferris as head coach for the side taking part in the Olympic Sevens Qualifier in Monaco next month. Former 'Ikale Tahi player, Viliami Vaki, was named as manager for the tournament.
