Nuku'alofa, Tonga : A one-year old baby boy who fell from the back of an open van during a collision, died from his injuries on Sunday morning 14 August at Vaiola Hospital. The baby's parents and the driver of the other vehicle, a BMW, remain in a critical condition in hospital.Premium content -

Nuku'alofa, Tonga : There are two referees from Tonga at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Lata Kaumatule (31) and Tevita Makasini (39) are both assistant referees in Olympic Soccer competition (Association Football), Lata officiating the Women’s Olympic Soccer tournament and Tevita officiating the Men’s Olympic Soccer tournament. Nuku'alofa, Tonga : A popular New York based news media company 'The Daily Beast' has apologized for publishing an article accused of promoting an anti-gay sentiment. The article which was published on The Daily Beast website last week has been removed after receiving a public backlash. In the article, the straight writer Nico Hines used a gay dating site (Grindr) to hook up with three men staying in the Olympic village. The men were not named but according to Hines one of the men came from a “notoriously homophobic country”.Premium content -
