Annapolis-MD, USA : Palau’s reefs had the highest coral cover observed on the Global Reef Expedition—says the latest report from the Khaled bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation, undertaking the largest coral reef survey and mapping expedition in history. “Palau’s coral cover is truly exceptional,” said Alexandra Dempsey, the Director of Science Management at the Foundation. -

New York, USA : New York Times: As the coronavirus continued to surge in many parts of the United States, officials and experts offered starkly different outlooks Sunday about what was to come and when the situation might improve. Meanwhile the statistics are headed the wrong way: more than 70,450 new coronavirus cases were reported in the United States on Friday, the highest figure since July 24, and more than 900 new deaths were recorded. Sea otters also face risk when they consume toxin-laden shellfish. Early this month, Cronutt a 7-year-old Pacific sea lion underwent groundbreaking brain surgery aimed at reversing the epilepsy. London, United Kingdom : Musical Tongans are urged to apply to join in a Commonwealth Musical collaboration “for healing the human spirit during CoVid-19”. By combining the voices of 54 musicians from 54 member countries in a powerful virtual performance, the music video aims to showcase every Commonwealth member nation. “We need a musician to represent Tonga on this project, and we haven't had any applications yet!” Léonie Adams, artistic director of the The Dionysus Ensemble told Matangi Tonga this morning. -

Nuku'alofa, Tonga : After 145 years of Rule of Law, the Tongan Parliament with majority votes of 18-0 on Thursday 15 October passed a bill to amend the Tongan Constitution by adding on a Clause 89A to allow undefined Tongan “tradition” to be used in decisions by courts and tribunals, without applying rules of evidence.
