Any authority given power by the government to block and/or age restrict open internet access in Tonga needs to be very aware of the huge negative impact such restrictions will bring down upon the whole community.

I would like to thank Lord Tu’ilakepa for taking the fight against nepotism to Parliament. Sadly, most of the People’s Representatives voted against the motion thereby closing the door on democracy in favour of an undemocratic, unconstitutional, uncivilized nepotistic leadership style. -Senolita Swan

It should not take a rocket-scientist to see that in vain we claim to build a Pacific Nation's economy when the biggest chunk of the budget goes into payroll. Investment is where we should spend most of our budget instead. - Desert WarLord

Those who think that equality for all including women, can be accomplished without ratification of CEDAW, are deluded. ... People should march to the Palace to assure that the Constitution is solid against abortion and same-sex marriage ... not against CEDAW. - Sione Lousiale Kava

The way forward for us as a nation, is as equals. At Talitha Project, we strive for the equality of men and women as we believe that in God’s eyes we are all the same, in that we are His children. CEDAW’s purpose and establishment is reinforcement of that belief, and we will stand by it in full support. - Vanessa Heleta

The current incessant pressure applied by proponents to ratify CEDAW takes me back to Mary Fonua’s account (Feb. 12, 2015). She wrote that CEO Lōpeti Senituli assembled a group of educated and prominent ladies, as “relevant stakeholders” to decide the fate of CEDAW. - Sione Ake-mei-hakau Mokofisi.

The misconception around abortion and same-sex marriage is just a cover-up for attacks against CEDAW. We need to start talking about the real fears in people, particularly men who are in high positions of power and use these powers to control the masses - the real fear is about women and women's rights overall. The real fear is about giving up male privileges. If we want to talk open and honestly let's get down to business and stop using CEDAW as an excuse. - 'Ofa-Ki-Levuka Guttenbeil-Likiliki

Ain’t it amusing that Prime Minister Pōhiva and his cronies at the PMO, are the same gang who attacked past governments like fangs-bared “watchdogs,” are using the same tactics to silence their critics? – Sione Ake-mei-hakau Mokofisi.

Lord Vaea identified the Tongan language as the foundation of our democracy. Poor quality of writing – and the lackluster quality of statesmanship by politicians − is a threat to our language, therefore posing a threat to our democracy. – Sione Ake-mei-hakau Mokofisi.
