Nuku'alofa, Tonga : Police revealed yesterday that Tonga’s Drug Enforcement Taskforce charged a 34-year-old man from Tofoa after Quarantine officers intercepted over 242 grams of cannabis seeds being brought into the Kingdom at Fua’amotu International Airport on March 30. Auckland, New Zealand : One of New Zealand’s largest bus companies – Ritchies Transport Holdings –pleaded guilty before an Auckland court on Monday to failing to comply with New Zealand healthy and safety regulations in relation to a bus crash in 2016 near the city of Gisborne in which three Tongan passengers died. Nuku'alofa, Tonga : A three days workshop on the World Trade Organization Notification Requirements began in Nuku’alofa on 15 April, with the aim of assisting Tongan officials to understand necessary notification processes. “I think Tonga should be able to fulfil its obligation, and we hope that after this workshop, Tonga clears the backlog that it has got,” said Dr Edwini Kessie, a WTO official.
