
VACANCY FOR ELECTORAL ROLL & IT MANAGER
The Electoral Commission invites applications for the above‑named position from qualified citizens of the Kingdom of Tonga, including employees of the private sector or the public service.
This position aims to strengthen the Commission's technical capacity. The core function of this role is to manage, maintain, and secure the Electoral Roll and all related activities and data. In addition, the role will manage the Commission's digital presence, office IT infrastructure, and technical procurement.

Salary:
To be negotiated based on qualifications and experience, within an appropriate salary band.

Qualifications |
A Degree or Post‑Graduate Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, Administration, Management, or a related field. |

Experience |
Minimum 3 years' experience in IT systems administration, database management, network management, or a similar technical role. |

Technical Skills |
Experience with SQL databases, system configuration, user access management, networking, and basic hardware troubleshooting. |
|
Digital Skills |
Experience managing websites and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X). Basic graphic design or video production skills are desirable. |

Language |
Fluency in both English and Tongan (written and spoken) – essential for public communications and training. |
|
Character |
High level of integrity, confidentiality, professionalism, and ability to work under pressure during election periods. |
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Knowledge of data protection and cybersecurity best practices.
- Familiarity with data integration methods.
- Experience in public communications and media production.
