Nuku'alofa, Tonga : I will visit Nauru and Tonga from 15 to 17 July. I look forward to furthering Australia's close relationship with these Pacific neighbours, and to exchanging views on political and economic reform developments in both countries, and on regional and international issues of mutual interest and concern. I will take the opportunity to welcome the ongoing contribution of both countries to the regional consensus on Fiji and to the important work of the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands (RAMSI).Premium content -

Fiji : I agree with William Mariner's last letter to Matangitonga on the issue of the new tax system. The so called tax reform will only choke infant business and lessen the chance for local Tongans to engage in small business ventures. I am just anxious as to what other types of taxes the government has in store for the poor. - Freddy Kavaha‘apai -
