Nuku'alofa, Tonga : Business and households’ purchasing power are declining, states the National Reserve Bank of Tonga, while stressing the importance of price stability in the short-term as it moves to strengthen the monetary policy framework that seeks to better control inflation, and build the resilience of the financial sector, promote macroeconomic stability and support economic growth recovery. Nuku'alofa, Tonga : Siaosi Helu (36) was sentenced to four-months imprisonment of possession of illicit drugs, namely of 0.47 grams of cannabis in Nuku’alofa in 2021. His co-accused Akuila 'Aho had his sentence fully suspended. 'Aho was found not guilty on a further charge after evidence from drugs testing was ruled inadmissible.Premium content -

Nuku'alofa, Tonga : Bank of South Pacific Tonga Limited (BSP) today, Friday 10 March, 2023, announced a Net Profit after Tax of T$13.4 million pa'anga for the financial year ending 31 December, 2022. BSP Tonga Country Head Marcellina Rose Wolfgramm-Haapai said, “The Net Profit after Tax for FY2022 was 13.4% above the 2021 performance and achieved from improved Operating Income. -

Nuku'alofa, Tonga : Three children have died from viral pneumonia caused by an Influenza B outbreak in Tonga over the last 8-9 weeks, the Ministry of Health has confirmed.
