Nuku'alofa, Tonga : After a five hour stand-off a Tonga Police Search and Rescue boat was forced to pull out of a pursuit of the yacht 'Sea Oak' at 4:30pm today, after fugitive murder suspect Dean Jay Fletcher had fired several flares at the small police boat and threatened to set fire to it in northwest Vava'u waters, following his escape from custody in Neiafu earlier. International police services, maritime networks and commercial flights have been alerted for sightings of the desperate man.

Auckland, New Zealand : 'Ilaisaane Fifita and Sisikula Sisifa, both 31, became the first Pacific academics at the University of Auckland’s Business School, graduating with doctoral degrees today, Tuesday 27 September. 'Ilaisaane's work examining non-smokers, shows that marketing skills can be used to improve the consumer wellbeing and the welfare of society. Nuku'alofa, Tonga : The Ha'apai solar farm project - an on-grid project which will become the first utility scale solar energy generation facility in Ha’apai - was visited yesterday by Australian Minister, Senator Concetta Fierravanti-Wells and her delegation who were welcomed by Tonga Power Ltd. staff and the Governor of Ha'apai, Mo’ale Finau.
