    : TONGA'S annual Inter-Collegiate Athletic Sports competition opened today at the Teufaiva Stadium, Nuku'alofa, when for the first time schools from all island groups in the kingdom were represented. This year's 59th Inter-collegiate Athletic Sports competition is the first time that student athletes from the northern Niuas have participated, with a five member team.

On Saturday in Fiji, the Fijian Warriors beat the Fijian Barbarian 22-14, While in Tonga at the Teufaiva Stadium, the Savai'i Samoa beat the Tau'uta Reds 18-13. Yesterday, at the Marist Grounds, Apia, Samoa, the Tautahi Gold beat 'Upolu Samoa 20-18.
