Nuku'alofa, Tonga : New Zealander, John Jonesse, who faces 25 serious charges relating to the Ashika ferry disaster was stopped from leaving Tonga today, after an emergency sitting of the Supreme Court overturned a decision by a magistrate to let Jonesse leave.

Suva, Fiji : Now that the Commission of Inquiry into the Princess Ashika is wrapping up, I am just curious whether the Commission's findings would be upheld and acted upon by the government of the day. Nuku'alofa, Tonga :TONGA Police have today charged three people and the Shipping Corporation of Polynesia Ltd. with manslaughter by negligence, in relation to the death of a young mother Vae Fetu'u Taufa (21), who was one of the 74 people who lost their lives last August in the sinking of the Princess Ashika ferry.
