    : Tonga has lifted the requirement to have COVID-19 vaccination proof for all foreign travellers arriving in the country. Instead, the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Foreign Affair’s Immigration Division will incorporate key surveillance data requirements into one arrival card for passengers to complete on arrival in Tonga.

    : Two Tongan students received gold medals, during the University of the South Pacific's first day of graduation on 30 March at Vodafone Arena in Suva, Fiji. A total of 22 Tongan students will be graduating. This is the university’s Laucala Campus first graduation ceremony for the year, which is being held over two-days, in four sessions.

    : A donation of 200 solar home lighting units received by the Tonga Red Cross Society will be distributed to families affected by the 2022 HTHH volcanic eruption and tsunamis, with priority to the outer islands of Ha'apai. The donation which includes livelihood materials, is from the Government of India's Pacific Island Regional Initiative.

    : ‘Uhila Tu’i (34) was sentenced today to 33-months imprisonment, on charges including carrying a firearm to resist arrest, when he shot at and missed a police officer during the search of a home, at Hala'ovave, Tongatapu, in 2021. The Chief Justice said the accused could have been charged with attempted murder.
