    : A young man, whose family believes is the rightful heir to the Fielakepa title and estate, began his legal challenge in the Nuku’alofa Supreme Court today, against his uncle – the head of Tonga’s armed forces - who was given the Fielakepa title by King Tupou VI in April this year.

    : A major fire on Late Island, believed to have started on Thursday, has continued to rage throughout Friday night on the island - an important nature reserve. "I can see the red glow of a raging fire on Late now at 20:23... it is heartbreaking," said biologist Nadya Zvyagina on Friday night from Fangasito, Vava'u. There is a lot of dead wood on the island after Cyclone Ian.

    : A white plume coming from the peak of Late Island this morning may be a rare sighting of volcanic activity - but the volcanic activity has yet to be confirmed by Tongan authorities.     : Commercial retailing of Tonga's Rugby Union and World Cup apparel caused an argument between two Nuku'alofa traders that ended up in the Nuku'alofa Supreme Court - when one tried to stop the other from importing and selling apparel. However, Chief Justice Paulsen has discharged an initial order restraining a local broker from selling apparel that had the Tonga Rugby Union logo, Kukri brand name or IRB mark printed on it, and said the plaintiff's case was not strong.
