Nuku'alofa, Tonga : People living in the Pacific region should be concerned over the threat of natural disasters, said Margareta Wahlström, the United Nations Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Disaster Risk Reduction, who is visiting Tonga. "The awareness level is high but it is the action that counts and what happens next. The major challenge is how to quickly get the understanding fully enforced into the society so it could become more resilient, better informed and thinks long term," she said. Nuku'alofa, Tonga : Ten days of medical and civic assistance to Tonga that concludes on Friday, June 21, under the Pacific Partnership 2013 organized by the Pacific Fleet of the United States Navy, has involved personnel from over ten countries working together under the humanitarian assistance programme.
