 Nuku'alofa, Tonga : TASANOC - the Tonga Sports Association and National Olympic Committee, received a $600,000 pa'anga cheque from the Tonga government, yesterday 2 November, to fund the national teams going to regional competitions. The Pacific Games and SOL2023, are coming up from 19 November – 2 December in Honiara, Solomon Islands.

 Nuku'alofa, Tonga : The cruise ship, MS Noordam, docked at Vuna Wharf in Nuku’alofa this morning, with over 1,500 tourists. The vessel arrived at 8:00am after departing Vava’u at 5:00pm yesterday.  Nuku'alofa, Tonga : ‘Akosita Lavulavu’s application to the courts for leave to appeal against a ruling by Acting Justice Langi, was refused in Nuku’alofa. Justice Randerson stated he had no hesitation in concluding that this appeal had no merit.  Nuku'alofa, Tonga : Habitual property offender, Siaosi ‘Ulukivaiola (25) a prisoner, got more jail time for breaking into the Ministry of Revenue office and stealing laptops and other property worth $34,650.  Nuku'alofa, Tonga : Tonga's Prime Minister said, “We are not trying to impress anyone. This was a sovereign decision made by the Government of Tonga...,” when he was asked why Tonga had opposed the UN General Assembly resolution that called for an “immediate, durable and sustained humanitarian truce” between Israeli forces and Hamas in Gaza. Tonga was one of only 14 countries, including the US and Israel, to reject the resolution, which urged the cessation of hostilities.
