The home of a Shoreline executive, Joseph Ramanlal, located at 'Anana village near Nuku'alofa, came under an arson attack early this morning, and family members say that a small fire was started by something like a Molotov cocktail that was thrown over the fence and into their doorway.

The Prime Minister, Prince 'Ulukalala Lavaka Ata asked for the Minister of Justice, Hon. Siaosi 'Aho, to tell the House about efforts that had been made to end the strike, and how each time it was turned down by the strikers, who had even refused to meet and discuss their grievances with the government delegation. He referred to the two who were standing (Prince Tu'ipelehake and 'Akilisi Pohiva) and said they were stirring up trouble in the land. From the House. On August 1, before the House decided to go into recess due to the ongoing civil service strike, the Prime Minister, Prince 'Ulukalala Lavaka Ata, expressed his dismay with what Clive Edwards had been saying on television, calling on the strikers to do something about public servants who were not on strike but were still working for government. He thought it was unusual for a former Minister of Police to say things like that. He said that what Clive was doing was inciting people to riot.
