Nuku'alofa, Tonga : Tonga's Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources launched the ‘Toe Talatalanoa Overseas Program’, a program for the ministry to share information and concerns regarding land, with Tongans overseas. The program runs from 5-22 December in Australia, and will later extend to New Zealand and the United States of America.

Dunedin, New Zealand : Iki Mafi Uele, who graduated as a Doctorate of Accounting on 16 December, becomes the first Pacific lecturer in the Accountancy and Finance Department, at the University of Otago New Zealand Business School (OBS). Nuku'alofa, Tonga : Tonga Meteorological Services (MET), forecasts cloudy periods, light showers and mainly fine weather for the next 10 days for Tongatapu and 'Eua. However, for the two Niuas, there is a 50 - 90 per cent chance of rain or heavy showers from 18 - 22 December. -

Nuku'alofa, Tonga : The Tonga Supreme Court has refused to grant an injunction that was sought by plaintiffs to stop Parliament from sitting until the final determination of judicial review proceedings. The Acting Chief Clerk of the Legislative Assembly said that the Supreme Court also heard submissions on a separate application by the Speaker and the Legislative Assembly that disputes the jurisdiction of the court to investigate the internal proceedings of the House on the September vote of no confidence motion in the Prime Minister.
