    : A falling tree branch on Taufa'ahau Road hit Senior Police Constable ‘Apisai Fihaki (36), knocking him unconscious and fracturing his right ribs, while he was responding to a call for emergency evacuation during Tropical Cyclone Gita. But recovering today at his home in Ha'asini, Fihaki said that saving people’s lives was the utmost priority. By Linny Folau

    : Bank South Pacific (BSP) Tonga has donated $30,000 to Tonga Red Cross relief program to support the victims affected by Cyclone Gita. Sione Taumoefolau, Secretary Generale for Tonga Red Cross Society said “this will go a long way in assisting their work in hiring trucks to deliver aid to affected areas, feeding the volunteers and other needed support.”

    : With only 3 months of training, Pita Taufatofua finished his cross-country 15km race in 114th place out of 116 skiers at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. Pita and other skiers displayed the Olympic spirit at the end of the race when they greeted and carried the last placed skier - German Madrazo of Mexico at the finish line.

    : Cyclone Gita destroyed 18 homes and damaged another 60 houses in Houma, on Tongatapu, where a massive clean-up operation is underway this week. Lord Vaea of Houma said some tarpaulins had been distributed on Saturday, but "We need the tents!"
