    : The 76th University of the South Pacific Council meeting to be held in Nuku'alofa on May 15-16, is expected to discuss the Fiji Crimes Decree and its liabilities for council members. The council's two days deliberation will also look at the university's Strategic Plan for the next six years, which includes development of an additional 14 acres of land for the USP in Tonga.

    : Five newly installed tsunami warning sirens will be tested tomorrow Friday 10 May between 12:00-4:00pm around Nuku’alofa and in the Hihifo villages of Afa and Talafo'ou. The National Emergency Management Office advises that the sirens will sound like “an air-raid siren in war movies” and that the level of noise could cause “some discomfort or inconvenience.”
