At the end of last month ANZ ceased to do the billing for Shoreline Power, it closed down its branch at the Shoreline Headquarters and removed its ATM machine from outside the building. Nuku'alofa, Tonga : People's Representatives to the Tongan Parliament today called for government to hold a referendum, asking the Tongan people if they want the right to elect all of the 30 members of the Tongan parliament, so the King can appoint his Prime Minister and Cabinet Ministers from among the elected members. Nuku'alofa, Tonga : An award ceremony at the Tonga Police Headquarters on September 2 marked the retirement of two officers, the Fire Chief and the Deputy Fire Chief who have been in the service for 30 years. Nuku'alofa, Tonga : The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in program on Family Values presented the first Family Values Awards to three model Tongan families on September 2 at Liahona High School, Tongatapu. Nuku'alofa, Tonga : The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration Division has confiscated the passports of some Tongans who are allowed dual citizenship by second countries. An exception is for people born overseas to Tongan fathers and they may hold dual citizenship because this category is currently not covered under the current legislation. Nuku'alofa, Tonga : The Prime Minister HRH Prince 'Ulukalala Lavaka Ata announced in a Press Release late last night that it had become "necessary that the tenure of office of three of Tonga's ministers ended". They were named as: Hon. William Clive Edwards, the Minister of Police, Prisons and Fire Services; the Hon. Dr Masasso Paunga, Minister of Labour Commerce and Industries; and Hon.
