USA : Some of us may not see the mutual benefit that Tonga, U.S. and Allied Force reap from each other. It is 2010, the world has become globalised and we cannot function efficiently and effectively without the company of each other. Tonga's military is part of the Allied. There may be a cost of being part of the Allied and going to Afghanistan, but in the long run, benefits still outweigh the costs. - Sosaia Mila.

Nuku'alofa, Tonga : The New Zealand company, Horton Media Limited - the largest independent contract newspaper printer in New Zealand and Australia - has apologised to the Prime Minister, Dr the Hon. Feleti Vaka'uta Sevele, for having printed issues of the Kele'a newspaper that contained articles that were untrue and defamatory. Nuku'alofa, Tonga : Tonga's Police Commander Chris Kelley has ordered an inquiry into Tonga's prison escapes saying today that it is of serious concern to the police that over the past eight weeks 13 escapes were reported to them. Nuku'alofa, Tonga : 'On The Spot', a talented young Tongan singing group received an award for the "Best Commonwealth Band/Artist" musical video, at Marlborough House, London on August 12, 2010, International Youth Day. Three girls, singers 'Emeline Kite, Minaira Fifita and Nisyola Fifita, and two boys, guitarist Samiu 'Ofa and cinematographer Malani Wolfgram travelled to London to receive their award. Nuku'alofa, Tonga : Two prison escapees are still on the run this week, as escapes from Tonga's main prison, Hu'atolitoli at Vaini, have hit record levels with 33 escapes by 10 prisoners over the past seven months, the highest ever recorded in Tonga's prison history. Nuku'alofa, Tonga : Tonga is sending four contingents of soldiers to Afghanistan to support the Western Allied War on Terror. The Tongan Prime Minister, Dr Feleti Sevele in an interview said that Tonga has previously supported requests from both the USA and the UK for soldiers to fight their battles overseas.
