Applications are invited for the vacant posts of Manager Finance & Accounts Officer with the Retirement Fund Board

1 Manager Finance

Responsibilities:

  • Provides advice to the Chief Financial Officer on control, financial and employer contribution issues, as well as compliance and risk changes in these areas.
  • Assist the CFO with Financial & Management Accounting
  • Assist the CFO with the preparation of cash flow projections to ensure an adequate level of liquidity is maintained to maximize available funds for investment.
  • Assist the CFO in the preparation of the annual budget, the development of appropriate financial models covering income and expenses, and then for reporting monthly against these models.
  • Ensures the preparation of all financial and related reports that fairly reflect the Fund’s financial position, changes in equity and cash flow from operations.
  • Ensures the preparation of all bank reconciliations bi-monthly, monthly, quarterly, six monthly and annually.
  • Prepares changes to Fund policy and plans covering financial and employer matters for submission to the CFO.
  • Ensures the appropriate recording of information in the Asset Registers.
  • Assist the CFO with secretarial services to the Board and the Governance, Compliance, Audit and Risk Committee.
  • Oversees the contribution management process from contribution receipt, to distribution to member accounts and ultimately withdrawal of contributions in the form of benefits.
  • Acts as a Team Manager, leading and managing colleagues as required in the Finance and Employer Division.

Qualification and Experience

  • Minimum qualification for the position is a Bachelor degree in accounting/finance or related areas from a recognised university. A higher qualification and/or relevant working experience will be an advantageous.
  • At least 7 years relevant experience in a similar post
  • Proven experience with MYOB software, Microsoft Applications such as MS Words and MS Excel.

Remuneration

  • The salary scale for the position is Level 3 of the Retirement Fund Board salary structure.
2 Accounts Officer

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for create and process purchase order
  • Confirm and pick up Fund orders
  • Tracking of Fund expenses
  • Confirm and pick up contributions
  • Assists with daily receipts and banking
  • Responsible for cross-checking invoices with payments and expenses to ensure accuracy
  • Assists with preparing Fund vouchers expenditure payments
  • Responsible for delivering of Fund payments.
  • Assists with Fixed Assets register
  • Responsible for proper filling of Finance records

Qualification and Experience

  • The minimum qualification for the position is diploma in accounting or related areas; a higher qualification and/or relevant working experience will be advantageous.
  • Computer literate, able to work with MYOB software, Microsoft Applications such as MS Words and MS Excel.

Remuneration

  • The salary scale for the position is Level 6 of the Retirement Fund Board salary structure.
