Tonga National Rugby League Board (TNRLB) confirmed at a press conference in Nuku’alofa this afternoon Mate Ma’a Tonga Coach Kristian Woolf was let go on Wednesday 4 September. Mate Ma’a Tonga with Kristian Woolf as coach reached the semi-finals at the Rugby League World Cup in 2017, the highest achievement ever reached by a Tongan Rugby League Team.

Tonga’s defence force rugby team, the Ngaahau Koula, will join nine countries in the International Defence Rugby Competition (IRDC) held in Tokyo, Japan from 11 to 24 September 2019.

Friendship, fun and fine football were all on display as Tonga Under 19 Women hosted Australia’s Westfield Junior Matildas in a historic international at the Tonga Football Academy on Tongatapu today.

Australia’s Westfield Junior Matildas team U16 will take on Tonga’s National Women’s team U19 in a friendly game in Tonga on Thursday, 8 August, kicking off at 1:00 pm, at the Tonga Football Academy in Veitongo. By Eleanor Gee.
