There have been no recent deaths reported from Influenza B, which peaked in Tonga over the past two-months. The Ministry of Health says cases of influenza-like illnesses going to the hospital to date have slightly decreased. COVID-19 cases have also continued to decrease and remain at a “satisfactory level”. King Tupou VI received his 3rd booster dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

Bank of South Pacific Tonga Limited (BSP) today, Friday 10 March, 2023, announced a Net Profit after Tax of T$13.4 million pa'anga for the financial year ending 31 December, 2022. BSP Tonga Country Head Marcellina Rose Wolfgramm-Haapai said, “The Net Profit after Tax for FY2022 was 13.4% above the 2021 performance and achieved from improved Operating Income.

Fiji’s Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka and chair of the Pacific Islands Forum at the opening dinner last night, 23 February called for a renewal of their collective commitment and common interests, as one Forum family “whose future is dependent on the one ocean, that we all share.”

It’s been a year, two weeks and one day since the catastrophic tsunami destroyed their island village life on of January 15 2022.
