A Coronation Royal Agricultural Show is expected to be opened by King Tupou VI on 5 August in Niuatoputapu, a national event that follows after the coronation celebrations wrapped up on 7 July in Nuku’alofa.

Thousands of students performed for King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipau‘u at a colourful Education Day today 1 July at Teufaiva Outdoor Stadium, during Tonga's week-long Coronation celebrations.

Japan’s Crown Prince Naruhito and Crown Princess Masako will attend HM King Tupou VI’s Coronation in Nuku’alofa during a visit from July 2-6.

A crowd of people from various churches in Tonga led by some church leaders, today marched to the Palace Office in Nuku'alofa to present four petitions to King Tupou VI, in opposition to Tonga's intention to ratify the United Nations Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).
