'Ikale Tahi shocks the French 19-14

Tonga produced the biggest upset of the 2011 Rugby cup by beating France 19-14 at the Wellington Regional Stadium tonight, October 1.

At half time the 'Ikale Tahi was leading 13-6 after Sukanaivalu Hufanga scored the only try of the match in the first half. But while Tonga was leading 19-9 at full time, the French produced a try in extra time which means that France could proceed to the quarter final, unless Canada beats the All Blacks with a bonus point at the Wellington Regional Stadium tomorrow.

The 'Ikale Tahi victory on October 1, is its second during its pool games. It beat Japan and France but it went down to the All Blacks and Canada. But Tonga's victory means that Tonga qualifies for the next Rugby World Cup.

Tonga's ourstanding victory is the second time that the 'Ikale Tahi has beaten France. The first time was in 1999, in Nuku'alofa.
