Over six years jail for rapist in Sopu robbery

Sisi Pale (34) has been sentenced to serve a combined imprisonment sentence of six and a half-years for robbery and rape of a woman who was home alone at Sopu during a group break-in on June 10, 2014.

The sentence was much too
The sentence was much too small. I live at Sopu with my family and a light sentence like that does not make us feel safe. The prosecution or judge should have pushed for the maximum sentence for rape. I have struggled with addiction to alcohol and have over consumed many times but never do I feel like raping someone every time I'm drunk. No one feels like raping someone when they're drunk, so drinking isn't an excuse because he must be fully aware of his actions and chose to go back and abuse and rape her.
If he was so out of his mind, how was he supposed to climb up a pipe and enter the house while the victim remained asleep? A really drunk person can barely climb into his car properly and also can barely sneak into his own home without alerting a few people. Was he that drunk? He did plead guilty which is good, but that should only take one or two years off the maximum sentence because the crime was so severe and cruel to the victim.
