Nuku'alofa, Tonga : Fafa Island Resort yesterday, February 4, celebrated the declaration of about 485 hectares of reef and sea area around the Island as a Special Management Area. The special protected status means that only a person or a fishing vessel that has been approved by the Coastal Community Management Committee may enter the area.

Nuku'alofa, Tonga : Tonga is seeking an estimated $56 million for reconstructing homes in Ha‘apai after Cyclone Ian, Tonga’s Deputy Prime Minister Samiu Vaipulu said on Friday at a press conference, held jointly with the visiting New Zealand Foreign Minister. Nuku'alofa, Tonga : A direction on the Tongan Supreme Court on how to process a civil case that was brought by the former Attorney General, John Cauchi against the Kingdom of Tonga is expected to be announced today, Friday, January 31.
