Nuku'alofa, Tonga : The names of the 30 players for the 'Ikale Tahi Rugby World Cup squad, to be captained by Finau Maka, were announced this afternoon by the new Chairman of the Tonga Rugby Union Authority, Rev Tevita Latailakepa.

Nuku'alofa, Tonga : Bob Tuckey, the Chief Executive Officer and the Chairman of the Tonga Rugby Union Board, resigned suddenly on Saturday 20 August, apparently after a disagreement with head coach 'Isitolo Maka over the selection of former 'Ikale Tahi captain, Nili Latu, and against a background of parliamentary interference in the countdown to the Rugby World Cup. Nuku'alofa, Tonga : New Zealand and Tonga Police have confirmed there is a connection between the Tongan male charged in relation to the cannabis bust in Tongatapu and the alleged methamphetamine scam that saw three Tongan men charged in Auckland.
