Nuku'alofa, Tonga : A 29-year-old man was sentenced last Friday 14 December to 2-years and 3-months imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to cultivating cannabis at a tax allotment in Malapo last year. Nuku'alofa, Tonga : A new marine navigation chart survey of the waters of Ha‘apai and Nuku‘alofa, has discovered uncharted marine volcanoes that are big enough to sink a cruise ship. Tonga's marine charts, among the oldest still in use, are being updated using airborne laser, metric sonar and an unmanned submarine- enhancing Captain Cook's fathoms measurements made by ropes in the 18th century. Nuku'alofa, Tonga : The successful relocation of Tukuraki, a Fijian village in the highlands of Ba, Viti Levu, to a new site is a prime example of the future of climate resilience, a reality faced by communities vulnerable to climate change and natural disasters in the Pacific.
