With one woman in the House, the Tongan Parliament suffered something of an identity crisis this morning as members tried to find an appropriate term to identify themselves in their letter responding to HM King Tupou VI’s opening speech of the 2017-2018 Parliamentary Session. They argued over an appropriate word to identify a woman member.

A Vote of No Confidence in Tonga's Prime Minister and his Cabinet was handed out by the Speaker, Lord Tu'ivakano, to the Tongan Parliament this afternoon before the House closed today at 4:00pm.
