Tonga's Queen Mother Halaevalu Mata'aho, has passed away in an Auckland Hospital, at the age of 90 years. In Tonga's parliament this morning, Monday February 20, the Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Siaosi Sovaleni is leading a prayer in respect of her passing.

Following the Coronation service at the Centenary Church of the Free Wesleyan Church of Tonga on Friday August 1, a Royal Luncheon was held in a marquee in the grounds of the Royal Palace. The luncheon was hosted by the Prime Minister Hon. Feleti Vaka'uta Sevele. Two traditional dances were performed by neices of the king to the compositions of the late Queen Salote Tupou III. The Tongan Noble Fakafanua (44) died suddenly this morning in Nuku'alofa. The Prime Minister's Office confirmed that Fakafanua collapsed and died on Hala Vuna, Ma'ufanga, while he was out for his early morning walk.
