A delegation from Kabariki village on Kadavu Island in Fiji has asked for the safe removal of a Tongan vessel MV Sitka from its waters after it got stuck on a reef due to mechanical problems on 21 August. The boat currently has 20,000 litres of fuel on board.

The game was locked 18 – 18 in the 73rd minute before the Fijian flanker Eremasi Radrodro scored the winning try in the 74th minute to win the game in front of an estatic Fijian crowd at ANZ stadium in Suva.

However, USP students living in Labasa and Lautoka had not yet made contact and attempts to contact them were "futile" due to a nationwide power outage affecting communication, USP's Dr Masasso Paunga stated this morning. The Suva campus has closed.
