    : 'Uluaki Falealea Vaka'uta (27) of Ma'ufanga was sentenced to seven years imprisonment for serious offences of housebreaking, theft and causing grevious bodily harm committed from June to July this year in the Nuku'alofa area. Crimes included breaking into Chinese shops, a local joinery business and stabbing a Tongan man at his home.

    : HM King Tupou VI unveiled a plaque and cut a ribbon to open a new Vuna Wharf, reconstructed with a $32 million pa'anga loan from China, in time to welcome its first cruise ship, the Ocean Princess tomorrow Tuesday 11 December. The new wharf is expected to help drive the economy by attracting more cruise ships to Nuku'alofa.

    : I understand that there is a lot of pressure on unemployed youth in Tonga and through our business we are trying to help in some small way. The three youths that attacked me on November 26 are most likely disillusioned with their current station in life but . . . I hope that they will now try to find ways to add value to the community rather than take from it. I praise the Nuku'alofa police. Their professional police work delivered a result. Ian C.
