Instead of looking at this as a bad deal, this is where Tonga can be an example to countries like Australia and NZ. Yes, people occasionally overstay, but countries that are friends act like it.     : Exceptionally heavy, unseasonal rainfall fell across Tongatapu on June 10-11 causing flooding in Nuku’alofa, and turning the capital into a city of lakes, during what is supposed to be the “dry season”. Fua’amotu recorded 273.1mm of rainfall in the 24 hours between 1:00pm Friday and 1:00pm Saturday, according to Tonga Met., a record rainfall for a single day in the month of June.

    : A New Zealand court has indicted nine men and one woman for the kidnapping and death of a Thai woman, Jindarat Prutsiriporn in March this year. Among the accused are five Pacific Islander men: Tevita Matangi Fangupo (23), Luigi Havea (26), Panepasa Havea (25), Masi Vaifale (34) and Rogers Paleaaesina (25). A trial date has been set for next year.
