Tonga's Vaiola Hospital sees 40 new breast cancer patients each year, but very few cases are detected early enough, before the cancer has spread to other parts of the body. Breast cancer surgeon, Lord Tangi, this morning begged women to use the early detection facilities that had been available at the hospital for the last four years.

HM Queen Nanasipau‘u gave a cultural presentation at the launching of the book ‘Songs & Poems of Queen Sālote’ (Reprinted, 2019 Vava'u Press) on September 10 in Nuku’alofa. Tonga’s hip hop Onion Squad have had their dreams dashed after they were denied US visas today, 2 August, to compete at the Hip Hop World Championships (HHI) in Phoenix, Arizona, United States, next week.
