Australian Wallaby lock Adam Coleman has opened up about his Tongan heritage in a recent interview with Rugby Australia. The 25-year-old 6'8 foot lock only debuted for the Wallabies this year. He plays his rugby for the Western Force in the Super Rugby competition.

New Zealand Police have confirmed the names of the two people killed following a bus crash between Wairoa and Gisborne on the night of Christmas Eve. Those killed were 11-year-old boy Sione Taumololo and 33-year-old woman Talita Fifita both of Tonga. Ten people remain in hospital.

Very bad news for Tongans on Christmas Day as New Zealand new media reports that a bus carrying a college group from Vava'u in Tonga who were on their way to Gisborne to perform at a church today, has crashed yesterday killing at least one person and injuring the 45 others on board.

Four years since that encounter, Fa is confident he can beat Parker again as a professional. One man and two women, all of Tongan heritage, are facing jail sentences for beating a security guard unconscious at a bar in Maui, Hawaii last month. They have been accused of kicking the guard in the head several times as he was lying on the ground. The guard was transported to hospital where he recovered. Doctors said the injuries could have been life threatening.

Taione Vea has announced his retirement from professional rugby two months after suffering a spinal injury during a rugby match. The 27-year-old Prop who plays for the Newcastle Falcons in the English Aviva Premiership said, “I was left paralyzed for five or six minutes on the field, where I couldn’t feel my whole body. That is enough for anybody in a lifetime, and the risk of that happening again if I was to return to playing is quite high.”

A 26-year old man of Tongan heritage, Gustav Otto Sanft, has been charged with manslaughter by a New Zealand court after his two-year old daughter Amokura Daniels-Sanft was found dead with a gunshot wound at their home in the Auckland suburb of Mangere earlier this year June 2.

Tyrone has been approached by 15 of 16 NRL clubs, and has also received two offers from French Rugby clubs Bordeaux and Toulon.
